Description:
Golden Sands is aptly named, located right on the sandy beach of St Brelade’s bay, it’s a friendly and welcoming hotel, perfect for families with children but just as wonderful for a romantic break or for those who want to get away from it all. With award winning bathing and water sports it’s easy to see why the Golden Sands and its surrounding gardens are a great favourite with visitors from all over the world. There are some wonderful coastal walks and local sights to explore, or you could just enjoy afternoon tea on the terrace and take in the stunning views over the bay. The hotel is just a short walk from the lovely bay at Le Portelet as well as the pretty harbour village of St Aubin. A short distance away is the Jersey Lavender Farm, also nearby to the west is Corbière Lighthouse, and both are stops along the peaceful Railway Walk.
The Sands is one of the best restaurants in St Brelade’s Bay, they use fresh local ingredients wherever possible, including Jersey seafood when available, and their delicious desserts are not to be missed. Golden Sands Café Bar is very popular among locals, the menu offers something for everyone, from burgers to healthy salads. It’s a very social environment in the evening, where guests enjoy live music and a full bar. Ask the friendly bartender for the cocktail of the day. There is also a selection of local and imported beer on tap.
The island’s capital, St Helier, is just over 20 minutes away, it’s home to boutique shops, cafes, bars and restaurants along with museums and other sights, such as the Jersey Museum, the Maritime Museum and Elizabeth Castle. Beyond St Helier, up the east of the island are the picturesque bays at Gorey and Rozel. Or travel inland to the famous Jersey Zoo, to La Hougue Bie, one of the ten oldest buildings in the world, to the Jersey War Tunnels or to St Lawrence Valley, maintained by National Trust, Jersey and featuring some truly idyllic country walks.
