Formerly a 16th century priory, La Barbarie has a relaxing country house ambiance, combined with the stylish elegance of a contemporary boutique hotel. While the hotel is sheltered and secluded along a leafy country lane, it’s just a short stroll down to the beach at Saint’s Bay and La Barbarie offers easy access to the stunning cliff walks of the southern coast of the island. Guernsey’s capital, the charming St Peter Port, with its shops, bars, restaurants and its lovely harbour, is a short bus journey from a stop right around the corner from the hotel.
The hotel has a heated swimming pool, and the south-facing sun terrace which overlooks it is the perfect spot for morning coffee, a lazy lunch, afternoon tea, cocktails or aperitifs. The restaurant is very popular locally, with a menu which changes seasonally to take advantage of the very best local produce.
La Barbarie is also an excellent base from which to explore the rest of the island of Guernsey, from beautiful beaches, cliffside walks and country rambles, to historic buildings and museums like the German Occupation Museum, Guernsey Folk and Costume Museum, Castle Cornet or Hauteville House – the historic home of Victor Hugo.

Baggage information:
With Aurigny, you are permitted 2 items of cabin baggage with a maximum combined weight of 10Kg. 1 piece with maximum dimensions of 55x36x20cm ** to fit in the overhead locker and 1 piece maximum 35x25x20cm to fit underneath the seat in front. **If you are asked to check the size of your bag in the gauge ALL parts (including wheels and handles) must fit comfortably inside without being forced. 1 hold bag of up to 20kg is also included.
With Blue Islands, hand luggage allowance per person includes one standard cabin bag measuring no more than 55x35x20cm, including wheels and handles, and one small personal item, such as a handbag or laptop bag/briefcase, which can fit under the seat in front of you. The combined weight of your cabin baggage and smaller personal item must not exceed 10kg. 1 x 23kg hold luggage is also included per passenger with Blue Islands.
