You can spend dreamy afternoons watching the yachts go in and out of St Aubin's harbour while enjoying award-winning food and attentive, friendly service, or enjoy the heated outdoor pool, set in a verdant garden with palms and yuccas. Wander down the hill to St Aubin's own little bay for swimming, right next to the Yacht Club, it's wonderful at high tide. Or ramble down the Bullwarks, this historic walkway takes you past some of the best restaurants in St Aubin. A short distance away is the Jersey Lavender Farm, a little further west is the iconic Corbière Lighthouse, and both are stops along the peaceful Railway Walk.
Tides restaurant is popular with locals and guests alike, with a wide variety including fresh local seafood, British meats and fine wines. The outdoor pool is heated from May to September, there’s also a lovely quiet garden to relax in and indoors there is a cosy lounge with books and board games.
The island's capital, St Helier, is just a ten minute drive away, or you could even walk there along the sea front of St Aubin’s Bay, it would take just over an hour but there are plenty of places to stop for refreshments along the way. St Helier is home to boutique shops, cafes, bars and restaurants along with museums and other sights, such as the Jersey Museum, the Maritime Museum and Elizabeth Castle. Beyond St Helier, up the east of the island are the picturesque bays at Gorey and Rozel. Or travel inland to the famous Jersey Zoo, to La Hougue Bie, one of the ten oldest buildings in the world, to the Jersey War Tunnels or to St Lawrence Valley, maintained by National Trust, Jersey and featuring some truly idyllic country walks. Alternatively, head up to the north west of the island where there is some wonderful rugged coastline, Plemont and Greve De Lecq are particularly lovely.
